Jean Marfizo King-- Dauphin County’s elected Register of Wills and Clerk of the Orphans’ Court since 2012, PTA President, mother of two, and consummate multi-tasker — joins RSR in her new role as Realtor.
Born in Lower Paxton Township and a resident there most of her life, Jean knows the Harrisburg area and understands all it offers. Jean also has lived in Fairfield, CT while in college, Boston while earning her MBA at Northeastern University, and Japan during her early sales career with AMP/Tyco Electronics.
These broadening experiences magnify Jean’s appreciation for Harrisburg’s high quality of life, affordable cost of living, and easy access to major metropolitan centers like Philadelphia, Baltimore, and New York, not to mention the surrounding beauty and charm of Central Pennsylvania.
Jean’s focus on service and goal orientation gained her recognition at AMP/Tyco Electronics, where she consistently earned recognition in the President’s Club for her outstanding sales ability. Serving people’s unique needs during pivotal transitions in their life and getting things done also describes Jean’s current approach in her elected role as Register of Wills and Clerk of the Orphans Court. While in office, she has digitized and preserved time-honored records from as far back as the 1800s.
She is eager to apply these skills to real estate.
“Becoming a Realtor for RSR is a natural extension of who I am,’’ Jean says. “I’m energized by people and am deeply committed to listening to and understanding my clients’ needs. In every facet of my life, I focus on serving other people, and I do this by trying to place myself in their shoes. I will apply my skills of efficiency and timeliness in everything I do for my clients.’’
Jean’s commitment to family begins with her husband, Greg, also a long-time resident of Harrisburg, who she met 25 years ago at AMP. They are the proud parents of Caroline and Danny who attend schools in Central Dauphin, the same district where Jean graduated from high school in 1987. Jean can often be found cheering for her children in basketball and volleyball games.
She and her family are lifelong St. Catherine of Laboure parishioners. In her spare time, Jean enjoys traveling, and frequently visits New York City, Washington, D.C., and Philadelphia, where her two sisters live.
“I understand the importance of being active in the community and our schools,’’ Jean says. “There is nothing more important than finding a home where a family can build meaningful memories, no matter what their stage of life. Whether a person is moving from another country or is overwhelmed with paperwork and has limited time, I take the perspective of the person who needs the help.’’
Jean is eager to bring her sales acumen, her love of people, and her insight into the Greater Harrisburg area to her new role as a Realtor for RSR.
